Visitor From Brazil

Recently Clap Talk was organised in the school for students of grade 9 A and 9 B. The students welcomed the visitor Ms Lais Klain in the traditional Indian style. This session was organised in association with Clap Global. Such interactive and informative sessions give our students a chance to meet and converse with people from other countries. She interacted with our students and told them about the culture and lifestyle in Brazil. Her session included interesting information related to her family, culture and religion in Brazil. She also taught essential Portuguese words used for communication to our students. Ms. Lao also discussed global issues with our students, which included the decreasing size of Amazon forests and the precautions people in Brazil are taking to protect the climate. The exciting session ended with games and a talent show in which our students showcased their talent on stage.

General Assembly of Entire School

A general school assembly was held recently by the students of the Middle and Secondary section to ignite the school spirit and instil a sense of belonging in all Zebarties. It also encouraged Zebarites towards utilising the opportunities the school has to offer to its students. Naitik and Aanya Parekh anchored the assembly. They sensitised the students through their thought-provoking and enlightening speech on ‘Environment Conservation’.
The theme of the assembly was ‘Environment Awareness’. The students of 9 C left everybody spellbound and speechless as they performed on the song “Na katto Mujhe” and exhibited the reckless cutting of trees and how we have been selfishly plundering the earth and her natural resources.
After the dance performance, students presented their award-winning skit of ADMAD competition on ‘Mosquibella Cream.’ .Assemblies like these teach significant life lessons to students in diversity, accountability, leadership and responsibility

Special Assembly of Janmashtami by Std II E

The colourful festival of Janmashtami was celebrated by students of class 2E in a special assembly. The assembly began with the usual protocol, and after the thought of the day, students sang a beautiful song “Gokul ki Galiyon Mein”.
A well-synchronized dance performance on “Krishna Leela” left the students mesmerized. After the enactment of Krishna Leela, a dance by students of grade 2 E was presented. The two performances enthralled the students and the audience and provided a glimpse into Lord Krishna’s life.
In the last phase of the assembly messages by beloved Hindu God Lord Krishna, which emphasizes on not worrying about the future and regretting about the past were shared by the students. The beautiful assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Preschool Janmashtami Celebrations

Preschoolers of Zebar Preprimary celebrated Janmashtami at the campus yesterday. Girls came dressed in colourful chaniya cholis and boys in traditional kurtas. The event started with the prayer, which was followed by the dramatization of Lord Krishna’s birth. The entire story was shown to the children in traditional puppetry style with the help of paper puppets and background music, and story narration was carried out by the teachers of the preprimary section. Toddlers of Nursery presented a dance performance on “Achutam Keshavam”. The little ones matched the steps with their friends and were confident on stage. A matki phod event also took place in which the slogans of “Hathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lalki’ filled the air. An aarti was performed by the Vice-Principals and Principal of the school. In the end, our students danced on the tunes of Garba. Celebrations like these teach our children, the rich mythological history of our country as they learn to respect and value all religions. Excursions of Standard 8

We believe in Learning beyond the classroom walls.Students of standard 8 went to Dandi Kutir and Punit Van for an excursion. They are studying about Life and thoughts of Gandhiji in History.Dandi Kutir is India’s Largest & only Museum built on the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.This museum is specially designed based on the Biography of Mahatma Gandhi-the initiator of Disobedience and nonviolent campaign for Independence of India. This museum is designed with sophisticated electronics Technology in which audio, video and 3-d visual, 360 degree shows and display is used to show varied knowledge. Punit Van is a botanical garden situated in Gandhinagar. Our students got an opportunity to see more than 3000 varieties of plants.

Zebarites join hands with RJ Dhvanit for Green Amdavad

Students of class X D participated in the 4th edition of Mirch Tree Idiots. The tree plantation drive was held in association with AMC and RJ Dhvanit of Radio Mirchi. Our students interacted with Dhvanit and took part in the plantation drive enthusiastically. They also promised that they would monitor the plants regularly. Zebarites planted more than 100 trees under this campaign, thus ensuring that our lush green campus remains green throughout the year. This activity sensitised our students towards the need to be environmentally conscious and take the matter in our hands instead of blaming others. RJ Dhvanit shared a link with our students through which any Amdavadi can be a part of this ‘Tree idiot campaign.’ We encourage our students and parent community to take part in this activity. Helping Others- Assembly class 3 B

No society can progress if its citizens are not sensitive towards each other. To teach and make our young students understand that it is essential that we should be helpful towards the needy and injured an assembly was conducted by students of class 3 B. The topic of was ‘Helping Others’. The assembly began with a morning prayer and was followed by the thought of the day. Eshwa and Aaryan anchored the assembly. A skit by students of 3 B was enacted to make their peers realise the need for empathy and how it is essential to be caring and thoughtful for others. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Doctor’s Day Assembly

An assembly was held on the topic ‘National Doctor’s Day’ by students of class 7B. It showcased the relentless service of doctors in society. The assembly began with the Morning Prayer, which was followed by the thought of the day.
Students imparted their peers’ information about the different types of doctors like Cardiologist and Neurophysiologist and what they do. They briefed the assembly that these expect doctors put in a lot of time and effort into getting degrees in specialized areas.
Dr Pooja Shah, our on-campus doctor, was invited for a talk. She discussed tips to remain healthy during the monsoon season with our students. She has been gifted a hand made care by Vriti Maniar. In the end, Vice Principal Ms Mili Bhatacharyya shared a beautiful story of a poor boy who became a doctor after years of hard work and dedication yet he remembered a small gesture of a lady and repaid her kindness by treating her. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Global Warming Assembly of 2 B

Global Warming has led to changes all around us. The temperatures are rising every year, and it is time that the younger generation is made aware of these changes taking place. Students of class 2 B held an assembly on this topic. Fiona Shah anchored the assembly. The assembly commenced with a morning prayer, which was followed by the thought of the day. Harith presented the idea of the day-“Change your life today, Don’t gamble on the future, act now, without delay.”

An informative video was shown to the students about Global Warming. They also enacted a skit to highlight the effects of deforestation and rise in the level of greenhouse gases.
The assembly ended with a resolve to take the necessary steps to reduce Global Warming.

Zebar Gets Principal Award

Ms. Sharmistha Sinha, Principal of Zebar School for Children, was awarded the ‘Best District Principal’ by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) for the year 2018 -19. The award includes a trophy, a citation and a cash prize. The award has been bestowed upon her by SOF for the collective outstanding performance of the students of Zebar School for Children in the various Olympiads conducted by the organization during the academic year 2018 – 19.
A felicitation ceremony was held in the school auditorium earlier this week. Ms. Sinha was handed over the award, on behalf of SOF, by the Academic Advisor, Ms. Radhika Iyer.
Personally, for Ms. Sinha it is another recognition of her leadership qualities and perseverance. In a span of one year as Principal, she has rendered yeomen service to the school. Her very presence is an inspiration to the students and teachers. Working way beyond school hours, she has won over the trust of students, teachers and parents alike with her gentle demeanour and humane attitude.
