General guidelines for GSEB-affiliated schools regarding admission:

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Requirement: Students must meet the age criteria specified by the GSEB for their respective classes (e.g., minimum age for Class 1 admission is usually 6 years before or on 31st May).
  • Previous Academic Records: Admission is typically based on the performance of the student in the previous class (e.g., Class 1 admission requires completion of pre-primary education).
  • Documentation: Required documents include:
    • Birth certificate (for age verification)
    • Previous school report card (if applicable)
    • Caste certificate (if applicable)
    • Address proof (e.g., Aadhar card, utility bills)
    • Passport size photographs
    • Transfer certificate (if transferring from another school) applicable after grade 1 admission.
    • DEO Counter sign on TC/LC. (if state changing)

2. Admission Process

  • Application Forms: Schools issue admission forms for prospective students. Forms can often be obtained online or in-person.

4. Minimum Age for Admission

  • The minimum age requirement varies based on class:
    • Class 1: Minimum age should be 6+ for 1st standard.(before of on 31st May)
    • Higher classes: Age limits are determined by the class/grade level mentioned in the Transfer Certificate, verified through the UDISE number.

5. Transfer Students

  • Document Verification: Students transferring from other schools need to submit:
    • transfer certificate,
    • previous school performance records
    • UDISE number
    • other related documents
  • Admission Based on Available Seats: Transfer admissions are granted based on available seats in the desired class.

6. Special Cases (e.g., Disabled Students)

  • Inclusive Education: Some schools provide special provisions or facilities for students with disabilities or special needs, in line with the rights of differently abled children.

7. Final Admission Confirmation

  • Once the necessary documents are verified and fees are paid, students receive a formal admission confirmation from the school.
